dieci precetti

I "Dieci precetti" del Buddhismo ricordano un po' i dieci comandamenti.

I Buddhisti vanno anche più in là, in quanto i dieci precetti sono solo i più importanti di un insieme di 58 regole da osservare.

Le versioni in inglese e in cinese che ho trovato differiscono a volte anche in maniera significativa. Ne riporto quacuna. In inglese:

The ten most important among the fifty-eight rules of discipline for Mahayana bodhisattvas set forth in the Brahma Net Sutra. (The others are called the forty-eight minor precepts.) The ten major precepts are

• not to kill
• not to steal
• not to engage in any sexual relations
• not to lie
• not to sell liquor
• not to speak ill of the past misdeeds of other Buddhists
• not to praise oneself or disparage others
• not to begrudge offerings or spare one's efforts for the sake of Buddhism
• not to give way to anger
• not to speak ill of the three treasures (the Buddha, his teachings, and the Buddhist Order).

In cinese sono noti come 十重禁戒 (shí zhòng jìnjiè).

十重禁戒为：杀生、偷盗、邪淫、妄语、饮酒、说过罪、自赞毁他、悭、瞋、谤三宝。

禁戒 è "avvertimento, guardarsi da". Ci sono caratteri e modi di dire osticamente obsoleti, in dettaglio:

• 杀生 (shāshēng): "uccidere"
• 偷盗 (tōudào): "rubare"
• 邪淫 (xié yín): "decadenza morale"
• 妄语 (wàng yǔ): "dire bugie, parole senza senso"
• 饮酒 (yǐnjiǔ): "bere alcoolici"
• 说过罪 (shuōguò zuì): "crimini con le parole"
• 自赞毁他 (zìzàn huǐ tā): "farsi belli a spese di altri"
• 悭 (qiān): "pungente, miseria"
• 瞋 (chēn): "mostrare rabbia"
• 谤三宝 (bàng sānbào): "diffamare i tre tesori" che sono territorio, gente e governo.

In giapponese si usano gli stessi caratteri e si pronunciano "じゅうぜんかい":

• 不殺生（ふせっしょう）
• 不偸盗（ふちゅうとう）
• 不邪淫（ふじゃいん）
• 不妄語（ふもうご）
• 不悪口（ふあっく）
• 不両舌（ふりょうぜつ）
• 不綺語（ふきご）
• 不貪欲（ふとんよく）
• 不瞋恚（ふしんに）
• 不邪見（ふじゃけん）
