English
One day I was chatting with a Chinese friend.
We were talking about a supplier, one who is very short, skinny, and talks with an heavy accent, also mumbles a lot, all in all I have extreme difficulty understanding what he says.
My friend said he was like a “HABI.”
I was a little surprised, and asked “What’s a HABI?”
He went on saying: “Come on, that movie, they were all dwarves, and there was one really ugly.”
I couldn’t recollect a movie like that: “Sorry, I don’t know which movie are you talking about”.
He couldn’t come to terms with the fact that I didn’t know that masteripece: “That is a really famous film. They are all dwarves, they go to war against the ugly ones, but there is one hideous and naked who helped them.”
Well I had to think well but in the end I realized that he was talking about “The lord of the rings”, of which he didn’t understand a shred, but he was impressed by the characters, in particular the “Hobbits”.
